Welcome to the website of the Contemporary Issues Adult Sabbath School Class at the Calimesa Seventh-day Adventist Church. We are roughly 100 people of varying ages and viewpoints who enjoy discussing contemporary issues from a Christian perspective, and studying the Sabbath School Lesson.
Although the vast majority of members have joined since the class started 45 years ago, we still engage in vibrant discussion. We may not always agree with each other, but we respect how God leads us all to greater understandings of His character and plans for us.

Mark (left) is Colette Carr's husband. He teaches Bioethics at Loma Linda University. [Mark claims to be writing a bioethics textbook while on sabbatical in France this fall.]
Elmar Sakala (right) is a professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Loma Linda University.
Dan Giang (below and to the right) is Elissa's Dad. He teaches Neurology at Loma Linda University and does administrative stuff.
