Staying Focused on Jesus

Living in the awareness of God's presence and intentionally staying connected and responsive to God is both the foundation and reason for the Christian life (and reflects two of our Core Goals -- Worship & Spiritual Formation).  We are reminded in 2 Corinthians 5:19

"that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ,"

and this forms the basis for the community we experience with each other, and the life  which overflows in loving, compassionate service to our world.  While it is often through service and being family together that we connect with Jesus and remain with Him, because it is also possible to be together and serve and yet remain unaware of God's presence in the midst of it all, being intentional about our own inner life with God is foundational.  It is ultimately the overflow from that life that results in and deepens both our life together as a church family and our service to those around us (even as those things, in turn, further enrich our personal walk with God).
